Fatherly Brews Poster Giveaway

Growing up I suspect most of us discovered beer’s existence with help from dad. We may have fetched beers from the fridge as a toddler or watched him cool off with a cold one after cutting the lawn. I remember being fascinated by my father’s beer can collection, which sat in a dark corner of the basement carefully arranged on shelves collecting dust.

As you may know I don’t usually promote non malt based products, but when beer, good design and fatherly nostalgia unite its hard to pass up, especially when you the reader can benefit. More details about that later.

Earlier this week I received an email from Every Guyed. It’s essentially a website for dudes about fashion, style and grooming; three things I don’t overly obsessive about. The marketing coordinator wanted to share a new line of posters they created in partnership with Moxy Creative House. The result is called Cheers II Animated Dads: 8 Premium Fatherly Brews, which “raise a glass to 8 animated dads by re-envisioning them as beer cans.”

I thought it was a great concept and the designs are marvelously abstract. Each character is boiled down to his essential elements. Which character does your dad most resemble? You can choose from Homer Simpson, Peter Griffin of the Family Guy, Fred Flintstone, Papa Smurf, Popeye, George Jetson, Mr. Incredible, and Mufasa from The Lion King. My favorite is the Homer Simpson can. Click on each thumbnail for a closer look to see the fun beer names.
