Painting Light Bier Rain or Shine

Brian Stechschulte| 07 Jun 2011

I’ve never been a huge fan of Amstel Light, but I do appreciate well crafted behind the scenes videos. Here’s a spot they produced about a huge mural they commissioned in New York City. There’s no narration. It simply shows how the painting was produced inch by inch through wind and rain.

I’m always amazed how muralists can maintain the proportions. When I’m painting, I always have to back up and make sure everything looks right. These guys are over fifty feet in the air on narrow scaffolding! A trick of the trade I suppose. I couldn’t manage the heights.

What do you think of the tagline? “Our light bier is more bier than light.”
